At Gleann Na Ri you will find that our
apartments and penthouses are fitted to the highest
standard. Each unit comes fully equipped with fitted
kitchen, cooker, microwave, crockery, cooking utensils
& a fridge with freezer. Living & dining areas
are fully furnished to ensure a home from home ambience
is achieved.
For comfort and because a good study environment
is foremost in our minds we accommodate only 3 students
per apartment. If you have specific needs we will do
everything we can to accommodate you.
We have apartments to cater for students with disabilities.
Apartment Types: Gleann Na
Ri consists of two apartment types:
1: Two bedroom apartment
2: Three single bedroom apartment
Kitchen/Living Area:
Each fitted kitchen is equipped with a full complement
of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Apartments
are also provided with a kettle, iron/ironing board
and microwave. Colour TV with cable is also provided.
Bedroom/Study Facilities:
Study bedrooms are designed to match the needs of today’s
students and include internet access, ample storage
space, bookshelves, study desks and reading lamps. Students
are required to provide their own bed linen and towels.
All apartments have a telephone for incoming calls with
a voicemail facility. Electricity and water heating
are designed to avail of nightsaver electricity.
Housekeeping:
There are regular scheduled inspections of apartments
to ensure an acceptable standard of cleanliness is maintained.
Students are liable for the cost of engaging contract
cleaners where apartments are being neglected. A full
cleaning service is provided to all entrance hallways,
as maintenance of excellent living conditions is a priority.
Frequently asked questions:
1. How do I pay for my electricity?
Each student pays a €250 electricity deposit. The
electricity bills come every two months. The cost is
divided equally between the students. Once all bills
have been paid the deposit will be returned.
2. How are roommates allocated?
If you have a friend you wish to share with, Gleann
Na Ri will endeavour to accommodate you both together
as long as this is clearly marked on your form at the
time of application. Otherwise roommates are allocated
on the basis of sex, academic year, course and age,
where possible. We cannot guarantee that we will be
able to facilitate all requests.
3. Do I have leave at Christmas and Easter?
No, the room is exclusively yours for the duration of
your lease.
4. What happens if I pay for accommodation
and fail to be offered a place at GMIT?
In the case where a student has paid in full for their
accommodation and fails to be offered a place at GMIT,
a cancellation fee of €150 will be deducted and
the balance refunded.
5. Can I book a room by telephone?
Yes. You will then need to send on the deposit / booking
fee of €750 to secure your room & all the relevant
forms and lease agreement will need to be signed prior
to arrival.
6. Is there a curfew?
No, there is no curfew. Residents may come and go as
they please, however we do require that residents carry
their student identification cards at all times.
7. What time do visitors have to leave?
All non-residents must leave Gleann na Ri by midnight.
8. Can I obtain my apartment number or
roommate’s details before I check in?
No, your apartment details will be issued to you on
arrival.
9. Is insurance for my belongings provided
by Gleann Na Ri?
No. You must take our your own cover for your possessions.
